Imphal: A combined team of Tengnoupal District Police and commandos, NAB, Manipur, NCB, 3rd IRB and 2nd MR destroyed around 40 acres of illicit poppy plantations at Tolhang hill range under Machi PS jurisdiction Monday
The team was led by Th Vikramjit Singh, SP, Tengnoupal and W Basu Singh, SP, NAB and officers consisting of RK Saklemba, Addl SP, NAB, Inspector John Lamkang, OC Tengnoupal, Inspector, DK Angrung, OC Machi Police Station and Inspector, Bobby, OC NAB.
This is a part of the ongoing drive of destruction of illicit poppy cultivation under ‘War Against Drugs’, launched by the state government.
With this, Manipur Police along with other departments has destroyed nearly 2674 acres of illegal poppy cultivation at various hill districts of Manipur over the last few months, stated a press note from the PRO, Manipur Police, W Basu.
