Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh reported a huge number of 118 deaths of Coronavirus patients during a period of 24 hours while 19,981 new cases were registered. The total number of deaths has crossed the 10,000 mark in AP.
A health bulletin here on Saturday said that 90,609 swab samples were diagnosed during a period of 24 hours ending at 9 am today of which 19,981 were tested positive for Coronavirus while a large number of 118 patients died.
The spike of death toll caused concern to the officials. The deaths of Coronavirus patients are gradually rising. Around 100 deaths of Coronavirus patients are reported every day.
As many as 920 Coronavirus patients have died during the last 9 days and the pandemic has claimed the lives of 10,022 patients so far. There are 2,10,683 active cases in the state while 18,336 patients have recovered during a period of 24 hours.
Large number of fresh cases 3,227 were reported in East Godavari district, 2,581 cases in Chittoor district and 2,308 cases in Visakhapatnam district. The total number of cases has risen to 15,62,060 while 13,41,355 have been discharged from various hospitals as they recovered. So far 1,85,25,758 swab samples have been tested in AP.
