Amphetamine tablets worth Rs 1.5 cr seized in Meghalaya

On searching the passenger’s baggage, police recovered 1.017 Kg of Amphetamine from the suitcase of one passenger identified as Joseph Hmangaih Zuala.
Zuala, a resident of the Hnahlan, Tlangnuam (Part) of Mizoram’s capital Aizawl, was travelling towards Assam’s main city of Guwahati.
A case was filed under relevant sections of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, police said.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma reiterated the government’s commitment to fight against drugs menace in the state.
“The government is determined to continue the crusade against narco-traffickers with unwavering dedication,” Sangma said.
