Amidst intermittent reopening of edu institutes, Nagaland govt declares ‘Unlock3’

The attendance of employees at the Nagaland Civil secretariat and also the Directorate offices will be based on the status of vaccination.

Kohima: The High Powered Committee on COVID-19 of the Government of Nagaland has decided to go for the third phase of ‘Unlock 3’ for another 15 days, starting from July 18 until August 1.

According to an official statement, the decision was taken in a meeting after getting recommendations from all District Task Forces (DTF) during the HPC meeting in Kohima Friday where a major decision was taken to allow the opening of higher secondary and colleges in Nagaland from July 26, however, there will be no opening of schools for lower classes as of now.

It said there have been a lot of requests from college establishments to allow them to start the colleges, but reopening is subject to all the teachers and non-teaching staff being fully vaccinated or taking at least one dose of vaccine. The colleges will be open as long as the teachers and non-teaching staff are fully vaccinated and maintain all the COVID-19 appropriate protocols in the colleges.

The attendance of employees at the Nagaland Civil secretariat and also the Directorate offices will be based on the status of vaccination. It said if one is vaccinated, then he or she will not be required to present or produce RTPCR test report or negative report, it said.
