Air India to resume Agartala – Delhi daily flight from Oct 1

According to the schedule, the flight will land at Agartala at 8-30 AM and will fly back to Delhi at 9-00 AM.

Agartala: After a break of six months, with the improvement of the Covid-19 situation, Air India has announced its schedule for resumption of daily direct flights between Agartala and New Delhi from 1st October.

Considering the passenger traffic, state-owned aviation enterprise Air India had launched non-stop flights between New Delhi and Agartala thrice a week in January this year and a month after it had started a daily flight to manage the passengers’ pressure but in April the flight operation was suspended due to the second wave of Covid.

Recently, the flight began operation four times a week and from next month it will operate on a daily basis, Airport Authority of India officials said here today. According to the schedule, the flight will land at Agartala at 8-30 AM and will fly back to Delhi at 9-00 AM.

Air India operates two flights daily between Agartala and Kolkata and, in addition, two more flights operate on Friday and Sunday to carry employees of the central government including jawans of security forces. At present, IndiGo has been operating a daily direct flight in the route besides five connecting fleets. The 180 seats daily IndiGo airbus now connects Delhi and with the resumption of Air India flight, Tripura will get two daily flights to the national capital.

Only Air India and IndiGo have been operating as many as 16 flights in Tripura connecting Agartala with Guwahati, Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru and all other major cities of the country, Airport officials added.
