Active cases jumps to 944 Friday in Manipur

There was no report of any Covid related death during the same period while 29 persons recovered and were discharged, as per an official release from the Health Department.

Imphal: With 116 persons (112 general population 4 CAPF) testing positive, the active cases in Manipur have reached 944 while the positivity rate remains high at 7.1 % in the last 24 hours leading up to 2 pm of Friday. There was no report of any Covid related death during the same period while 29 persons recovered and were discharged, as per an official release from the Health Department.

The state also reported six new Omicron cases taking the total tally of Omicron positive cases to seven. Of the six detected cases, one is a returnee from a foreign country while one is a visitor to the state who has already left Manipur. As per the release, contact tracing and containment measures have been taken up.

Of the 112 persons from the general population who tested positive, 40 are from Imphal West, 27 from Churachandpur, 22 from Imphal East, six from Tamenglong, four from Kakching, three each from Thoubal Bishnupur and Kangpokpi, two grom Chandel and one from Ukhrul. Altogether, 1,613 persons were tested amounting to a positivity rate of 7.1 %.

Meanwhile, 29 persons recovered and were discharged, 17 from home isolation, 10 from CCCs and one each from RIMS and JNIMS. The recovery rate of the state stands at 97.67 %

The cumulative number of positive cases in the state now stands at 1, 26,821 out of which 1,23,865 have recovered, leaving 944 active cases.

The total number of doses administered on January 13, 2022, is 7,112, the cumulative number of doses administered is 23,77,905(1st dose 13,56,905, 2nd dose 10,16,436) and precautionary 4,225.
