Imphal: Manipur recorded 677 new positive cases (672 general population 5 CAPF), nine Covid related deaths and 690 recoveries during in the 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of Thursday, as per an official release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room.
The nine persons, who succumbed to the deadly pandemic, include two each from Bishnupur and Thoubal and one each from Imphal East, Imphal West, Churachandpur, Kangpokpi and Ulkrul. With these nine deaths, the cumulative death toll in the state now stands at 1,683.
Of these nine persons who expired, six of them had co-morbidities while four had been vaccinated with the 1st dose.
The 675 persons (319 males, 353 females) who tested positive from amongst the general population include 283 from Imphal West, 152 from Imphal East, 52 from Bishnupur, 49 from Churachandpur, 47 from Thoubal, 26 from Kangpokpi, 16 from Ukhrul, 15 from Kakching, 11 from Tamenglong, six from Tengnoupal, four from Chandel, three from Jiribam and one from Noney.
A total of 4,676 persons were tested on Thursday amounting to a positivity rate of 14.5%.
Meanwhile, 690 persons were discharged which include 261 from home isolation, 198 from CHICs, 209 from CCCs, 15 from JNIMS and 7 from RIMS. The recovery rate in the state stands at 92.01% on Thursday.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 1, 06,707 (General Population – 1, 02,641, Central Security Personnel – 4,066). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 98,189 (General Population – 94,192, Central Security Personnel – 3,997). The number of active cases is 6,835 (General Population – 6,771, Personnel – 64).
Altogether, 10,082 were vaccinated on August 11, 2021. The cumulative number of vaccination is 14, 24,962 (1st dose 11,61,304, 2nd dose 2,63,638).
The total number of vacant hospital beds available in the state as on August 12, is 224 which include 152 general beds and 72 ICU/HDU beds.
Of the total 3547 beds available in CCCs in the state on August 12, 1281 are occupied while 2266are vacant, the release added.
