Active cases down to 198, positivity rate to .8% Friday in Manipur

Of the 11 persons who tested positive from the general population, six of them are from Imphal West, and two each from Imphal East and Chandel.

Imphal: Manipur saw all-round improvement as far as the Covid-19 situation goes in the last 24 hours leading up to 2 pm of Friday. There was no Covid related death during this period, the positivity rate fell below one percent at .8% with just 11 persons testing positive out of a total of 1,403 and 18 persons recovered. The total active case in the state came down to 198 from 314 the previous day, as per an official release from the Health Department.

Of the 11 persons who tested positive from the general population, six of them are from Imphal West, and two each from Imphal East and Chandel. 

Meanwhile, 18 persons recovered and were discharged, three of them from home isolation, 10 from CCCs, three from JNIMS and two from RIMS. 

Due to various reasons, 109 persons were reported as discharged only on Friday. Therefore, the total number of persons discharged is taken to be 127 after reconciliation with the reports of the IDSP team, home isolation team, community home isolation team and hospitalization team as of December 17.

The recovery rate in the state now stands at 98.26 %.

The cumulative number of positive cases in the state now stands at 1, 25,597 out of which 1,23,406 have recovered, leaving 198 active cases.

The total number of doses administered on December 16, 2021, is 4,700, the cumulative number of doses administered is 22,57,849 (1st dose 13,08,247, 2nd dose 9,49,602).
