Manipur: Reaffirming its steadfast dedication to promoting transparency, accountability and ethical conduct, Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South), organised a series of impactful educational and awareness programmes across Manipur as part of Vigilance Awareness Week 2026. Aligned with the central theme “Probity for Prosperity”, these multi-faceted initiatives sought to instil moral values, reinforce institutional integrity and sensitise both personnel and the younger generation to the vital link between ethical conduct and national progress.
The observances commenced on 28 October 2026 in Kakching district, where Assam Rifles Public School, Pallel, hosted a quiz competition centered on the core principles of vigilance and ethical living. The competition witnessed active participation from 16 students across Junior and Senior Sections, encouraging a healthy spirit of learning, while an audience of 85 students and teachers gathered to support the participants, amplifying the reach of the initiative and planting seeds of honesty in young minds at a formative stage of life.
Building upon this momentum, activities continued on 29 October 2026 across Tengnoupal and Thoubal districts. At Tengnoupal Garrison, an intensive awareness session was conducted for 61 Assam Rifles personnel, focussing on honesty, impartiality, prevention of corruption and practical adherence to moral values in daily official functioning. Simultaneously, the TA Battalion of Thoubal Company organised an enlightening session for Class IX students at Ananda Purna School of Sciences in Thoubal district. The interaction engaged 72 students, comprising 42 girls and 30 boys, alongside their teachers, highlighting that sustainable economic growth relies on strong, fair and transparent institutions.
Uniting these diverse activities across Tengnoupal, Kakching and Thoubal districts was a shared commitment to building a corruption-free society. By blending troop sensitisation with youth engagement, Assam Rifles successfully reinforced the ethos of personal responsibility and integrity, nurturing an upright generation while strengthening public trust and institutional ethics.
