Pherzawl: The District Election Office and District Administration, Pherzawl, have intensified preparations for the 2027 Manipur Legislative Assembly election, with emphasis on advance planning, inter-departmental coordination and ensuring essential facilities at polling stations.
A review meeting was held today at the conference hall of the DC Camp Office under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer (DEO) Anunay Anand, IAS. ADC and Additional District Election Officer Zosanglur Joute and district-appointed nodal officers attended the meeting.
The meeting reviewed key aspects of election preparedness, particularly the provision of minimum assured facilities at polling stations, to ensure that essential arrangements are made well ahead of the polls.
Emphasising the need for timely and systematic preparations, the DEO directed all nodal officers to familiarise themselves with their respective roles and responsibilities well before the announcement of the election schedule.
In a move to strengthen administrative coordination, the meeting also discussed holding weekly meetings of District Nodal Officers and District Level Officers (DLOs) to monitor preparedness and review the progress of official activities.
Separately, a DLO meeting was held to review the progress of various schemes and activities being implemented in the district. Officials also discussed opening a dedicated e-office facility to enable DLOs to access the e-office portal.
