pPherzawl: An Udyam Registration Drive was conducted in Pherzawl district from October 8 to raise awareness about the benefits of Udyam registration and various government schemes available to local entrepreneurs.
The drive was initially held at the Pherzawl village community hall in coordination with village authority member Fienzalhei and coordinator Lalthasiem, alias Chalrokhum. Around 50 villagers attended the awareness programme, and most of them registered for Udyam certification.
The programme was subsequently conducted at Parbung village, where villagers were briefed on the benefits of Udyam registration and the facilities available under various government schemes. State Bank of India (SBI), Parbung Branch Manager Paokholal delivered a briefing on the benefits of registration and explained how beneficiaries could access government schemes.
Parbung village authority secretary Emerson also encouraged villagers to register under Udyam and avail themselves of the benefits provided by the government. Around 50 community members registered across the two villages.
Seikhongam Touthang of the District Industries Centre, who served as a resource person, explained the procedure for new Udyam registration. He guided participants through the official portal, udyamregistration.gov.in, including Aadhaar verification, mobile OTP authentication, selection of the type of organisation and PAN validation.
The initiative aimed to improve awareness of Udyam registration and encourage local residents to access government support and benefits available to entrepreneurs.
