DC Senapati visits Maralong Anganwadi centre

The DC interacted with children, Anganwadi Workers, Anganwadi Helpers and ICDS team members and reviewed the functioning of the centre.

Senapati: As part of the ongoing Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, the Deputy Commissioner, Senapati, Dharun Kumar S, IAS visited the Anganwadi Centre at Maralong today and interacted with young children, Anganwadi Workers (AWWs), Anganwadi Helpers (AWHs) and members of the ICDS team.

During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner took stock of the functioning of the Anganwadi Centre and interacted with the children and frontline functionaries. The interaction focused on the importance of early childhood care, nutrition and effective delivery of ICDS services at the grassroots level.

As part of the Angan ka Utsav celebrations, the best-performing AWWs and AWHs were felicitated in recognition of their dedicated and tireless service towards child development, nutrition and community welfare.

Appreciating the contribution of Anganwadi functionaries, the Deputy Commissioner said, “Anganwadi Workers and Helpers have a vital role in ensuring the well-being, nutrition and holistic development of children at the grassroots. Their dedicated service and close engagement with the community are essential for effective implementation of child welfare programmes.”

The Deputy Commissioner also encouraged the Anganwadi functionaries to continue working with dedication and sincerity and emphasised the need for coordinated efforts among the district administration, ICDS team and the community for strengthening service delivery.

The visit highlighted the commitment of the district administration towards recognising grassroots-level service providers and ensuring effective implementation of welfare programmes under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan.
