Chandel: National Cleanliness Day/ Swachh Bharat Niwas was observed today across Chandel district with active participation from various departments and government offices as part of the nationwide cleanliness initiative.
The cleanliness drive was conducted under the supervision of Mamoni Doley, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Chandel, in accordance with the district administration’s cleanliness programme.
The drive covered various locations, including the Mini Secretariat (Front and Back Portions), Multipurpose Hall Building Complex, Mahamani Junction to DC Office Gate, Japhou Bazaar, NITI Aayog Building Complex, District Hospital, Children Park near Assam Rifles, SDO Chandel Office and SDO Chakpikarong Office.
ADC, officials and personnel from various departments participated in the cleanliness activities. The participating departments included CAF & PD, NIC, DC Staff, SDO Chandel, Treasury Office, Chandel Police, MSPDCL, Social Welfare, ICDS Cell, DYASO, Transport, Employment Exchange, Department of Information Technology (DIT), PHED, PWD, DIC, ADP, District information Officer(DIPR), Autonomous District Council, Veterinary, ZEO, Forest Department (DFO Chandel), Health, Food Safety, Agriculture, One Stop Centre (OSC), Fisheries, T.A. & H, MSRLM, My Bharat, Planning, Sericulture, DPO, and other remaining departments.
The SDO/BDO Chandel and SDO/BDO Chakpikarong also conducted cleanliness activities in their respective jurisdictions.
Schools, colleges, banks and other institutions across the district also observed the cleanliness drive on the occasion.
