Seva Sankalp Abhiyan 2026 launched in Bishnupur

Bishnupur: Hon’ble Home Minister Govindas Konthoujam along with MLAs of Bishnupur District and Deputy Commissioner Pooja Elangbam today inaugurated the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan for the district at the Panchayat Resource Centre, PRC Hall, Mini Secretariat Complex, Bishnupur.

Gracing the inaugural function as the Chief Guest, Minister Govindas Konthoujam stated that the month-long campaign is being organised to commemorate the 25 years of public service of the Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He highlighted that the central message of the Abhiyan is “Jan Seva, Rashtra Seva”, signifying that service to the people is service to the nation. He called upon everyone to actively participate in the campaign and contribute towards the welfare and development of society.

Referring to the vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister for a Viksit Bharat by 2047, the Minister urged all sections of society to join hands and work collectively towards building a better and more developed future.

The Minister further emphasised that no government can work alone for the people and that the active participation, cooperation and collective efforts of citizens are essential for achieving inclusive and sustainable development.

Deputy Commissioner Bishnupur, Pooja Elangbam, stated that the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan 2026, is being observed nationwide from 17th September to 17th October. For Bishnupur, it will focus on health camps, welfare scheme dissemination, beneficiary enrolment and verification, documentation and development outreach.

She added that the campaign, which commenced today with the inauguration of the Abhiyan and “Aashirwad Ka Diya” diya-lighting activities, will feature “Aangan Ka Utsav” from 18th to 23rd September, essay, painting and elocution competitions under “India of Dreams – Art Seva” from 19th September to 10th October, along with “Seva Setu Abhiyan,” “Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra” and “Seva Jyoti Yatra.” The month-long campaign will culminate with the “Jan Sevak Mahakumbh” on 17th October, she added.

As part of the programme, the dignitaries distributed cheques worth more than ₹2 crore under the Community Investment Fund and Bank Credit Linkages from MSRLM, Bishnupur, along with looms from the District Administration, CMHT cards, aids and appliances provided by the Social Welfare Department in coordination with the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO), and blankets and other essential items from the New Life Foundation.

The function was also attended by MLA Nambol AC Thounaojam Basanta Kumar Singh, MLA Oinam AC Irengbam Nalini Devi, MLA Moirang AC Thongam Shanti Singh, MLA Thanga AC Tongbram Robindro Singh, MLA Kumbi AC Sanasam Premchandra Singh, ADM Bishnupur Toijam Opendro, SDO Bishnupur Naorem Pritam, among others.

As part of the Abhiyan, the “Seva Setu Abhiyan” was also conducted today at the PRC Hall for Bishnupur AC, with various departments setting up stalls to facilitate beneficiary enrolment, verification, documentation and applications for different government schemes.

A blood donation camp was also organised at District Hospital Bishnupur in the morning, where around 40 people donated blood.

In the evening, “Aashirwad Ka Diya” will also be observed with lamps being lit at various government offices and public places as part of the campaign.
