Imphal: Governor of Manipur, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, along with Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh today attended the Tiranga Concert held at the Manipur State Film Development Society (MSFDS), Palace Auditorium, Palace Compound, Imphal. The concert was organized by the Department of Art and Culture, Government of Manipur as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign 2026.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla said it was heartening to see a large and enthusiastic gathering come together in the spirit of patriotism, pride and love for the motherland. He added that bringing the Tiranga home is more than an act of celebration. It is a personal expression of our connection with the Nation and a collective affirmation of our responsibility towards its progress.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh said that the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign was launched under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The Chief Minister said that the event is a powerful reminder that while we may belong to different communities, speak different languages and follow different faiths, we are all equal citizens of a great Nation. He emphasized that first we are all Indians and then we are Manipuris.
He further said that to show our pride in being Indians, we should all hoist the Tiranga not only in our offices and schools but also in our homes.
The programme featured patriotic songs and a choreographic dance presentation by the Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy. The artistes who first performed the song ‘Sana Leibak Manipur’ in 1957 were also felicitated during the programme.
The programme was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen, who joined virtually, and Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho; Govindas Konthoujam Singh, Minister (Home, Youth Affairs and Sports) and Khuraijam Loken Singh, Minister (Art and Culture, Tourism); Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs); Dr. Puneet Kumar Goel, Chief Secretary; Naorem Praveen Singh, Secretary, Art and Culture; artistes, mentors and other officials.
