Churachandpur: In a resolute commitment to environmental sustainability and public health, Assam Rifles organised a comprehensive cleanliness drive under the aegis of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan at Village T Khongkhai, Churachandpur District, on 29 July 2026. The community-oriented initiative aimed to foster hygiene, environmental consciousness, and civic responsibility among local residents while encouraging active public participation.
Demonstrating strong civil-military synergy, a total of 85 participants, comprising 20 Assam Rifles personnel and 65 civilians—including local youth, village authorities, and residents—jointly undertook the cleanliness campaign. The team systematically cleared debris and refuse across public spaces, roadsides, community areas, and drainage channels. Furthermore, participants carried out the scientific disposal and systematic collection of waste, ensuring a tangible transformation in the overall sanitation standards of the village.
To complement the physical cleaning efforts, an informative awareness session was conducted to sensitise the community on the vital necessity of personal hygiene, proper sanitation, waste segregation, and environmental preservation. Villagers were encouraged to adopt sustainable practices in their daily routines to support the objectives of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan through shared responsibility.
The proactive endeavor received widespread appreciation from the village leadership and local population. Beyond enhancing local environmental conditions, the collaborative initiative successfully reinforced the enduring bond of trust and cooperation between Assam Rifles and the people of Churachandpur District.
