Churachandpur: Deputy Commissioner Krishna Kumar, IAS, today visited flood-affected areas of the district to take stock of the damage caused by flash floods that have been battering the region since Thursday evening.
At Kerith village, inundated by the overflowing Khuga river, the Deputy Commissioner extended immediate assistance to the affected families. He later proceeded to L. Lhangnomphai village, within Tuibong block, where relief assistance was extended to the affected families.
As part of the relief effort, Krishna Kumar, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Churachandpur, distributed bags of rice, packets of dal, potatoes, cooking oil, onions, and other consumable items to the affected families. Interacting with residents during the inspection, he assured that the district administration will keep on monitoring the situation and ensure all possible support, including immediate relief assistance to the affected families through the Sub Divisional Officer concerned.
The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Seiminthang Lenthang, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Churachandpur, Thienlaljoy Gangte, SDO Churachandpur, and Jangminlen Lupho, SDO Tuibong and other line staff.
