Kamjong: In a significant step towards reinforcing peace, stability and communal harmony, the Assam Rifles conducted a high-level Security Coordination Meeting at the Somsai Garrison in Ukhrul district today. Chaired by the Deputy Inspector General of Assam Rifles, the pivotal forum brought together senior officials of Assam Rifles, the Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul, the Superintendents of Police of Ukhrul and Kamjong districts and representatives from various regional law and intelligence agencies
The interaction provided a comprehensive platform to review the prevailing security environment and foster a unified approach to maintaining regional harmony. Participants deliberated extensively on the existing security situation, emerging challenges and actionable measures to enhance synergy among the Civil Administration, Police, associated Intelligence Agencies and Security Forces. The discussions laid strong emphasis on intelligence sharing, operational coordination and prompt information exchange to preserve public confidence. Reaffirming the Force’s commitment to an impartial, people-centric security framework, the chair highlighted that coordination, mutual trust, and timely information sharing is essential for long-term peace, security, and stability in the region.
