Chandel Police observed International Anti-Drug day

The observance promoted awareness among youth about the harmful effects of substance abuse while encouraging a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.

Chandel: The Chandel District Police, in collaboration with the Maha Area Chiefs’ Association (MACA), Chandel, observed the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, today at the District Sports Complex Chandel.

The programme was organised under the global theme, “World Drugs Problem, Persisting Issues, New Challenges, Innovative Responses,” along with the national campaign “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan , Viksit Bharat Ki Pehchaan.”

The observance highlighted the need for collective efforts by law enforcement agencies, civil society organisations, community leaders and the public to prevent drug abuse and fight illicit drug trafficking. The programme also emphasised raising awareness among the youth about the harmful effects of substance abuse and promoting a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.

The function was attended by Additional Superintendent of Police, ASP (Ops), Chandel, Ts. Chamna Anal; Officer-in-Charge, Chandel Police Station, Sanjoy Chontham; executive members of the Maha Area Chief Association, local youth leaders, students, and anti-drug activists.

As the main highlight of the function, a bike rally was also flagged off to mark the observation.
