Chandel: Following the successful registration-cum-selection drive conducted at Modi in Chandel district on 01 August 2026, where an overwhelming 175 local youth participated, Assam Rifles officially commenced its specialized two-month Pre-Recruitment Training Programme on 10 August 2026. Scheduled to run through 10 October 2026, the intensive guidance initiative has been structured to provide systematic and focused preparation to local aspirants seeking a career in the Indian Armed Forces under the Agniveer Scheme and the Territorial Army.
Following initial physical assessments, 50 candidates qualified to appear for the written examination. From this shortlisted pool, 27 candidates (comprising 21 men and six women) successfully cleared the final evaluation to begin the training. The comprehensively structured curriculum focuses on physical fitness, endurance training, drill, military discipline, written examination preparation, personality development and leadership skills. The primary objective remains elevating the physical standards, mental resilience and self-confidence of candidates while thoroughly familiarising them with the intricate selection procedures of the upcoming recruitment rallies.
This sustained capacity-building effort reflects Assam Rifles’ steadfast commitment towards youth empowerment, skill enhancement and constructive community engagement in Chandel district. By instilling core values of integrity, courage and perseverance, the programme transforms youthful dedication into a tangible opportunity to serve the nation in uniform, thereby strengthening the enduring bond between the Force and the local populace across the region.
