Imphal: In a powerful continuation of successful grassroots upliftment, Khaidem OshiniKumar Singh, a youth from Old Checkon in Imphal East district, has been successfully inducted as an Agniveer into the elite Assam Regiment of the Indian Army. This milestone marks the latest in a series of national success stories emerging from the joint skill development initiative between Assam Rifles and its training partner, Homeland Security.
The son of a Signal Corps ex-serviceman, Khaidem carried forward his family legacy by undergoing rigorous preparation at the Homeland Academy of Tactical Security and Fire Safety, operating in collaboration with Assam Rifles. Initially transitioning from civilian life to work as an Executive Protection Guard, his determination culminated in clearing the stringent army selection pipeline. While Assam Rifles provided the vital ecosystem, including operational infrastructure, logistical frameworks and administrative backing, the instructional team at Homeland Security delivered the tactical training, discipline and mentorship necessary for professional excellence.
This public-paramilitary partnership has consistently rewritten regional destinies by offering youth constructive alternatives to anti-social influences. Following the successful placement of over 600 candidates from the same training framework, many have further transitioned into elite regiments, central forces and corporate leadership roles. Khaidem’s achievement reinforces the profound impact of targeted vocational training. The ongoing collaboration remains deeply committed to fueling socio-economic progress, grassroots employment and nation-building across Manipur.
