DC leads NEET centre inspection

Churachandpur: On the eve of the NEET re‑examination scheduled for June 21, senior officials led by Deputy Commissioner Shri Krishna Kumar inspected the examination centres at Churachandpur College (Autonomous) to assess preparedness and security arrangements for over 860 candidates.

During the inspection, officials examined seating plans, frisking mechanisms, security deployment, drinking water supply, sanitation, medical assistance, and uninterrupted power backup to ensure a smooth conduct of the test. The Deputy Commissioner instructed that proper facilities be arranged for depositing personal items collected at the gates, with clear identification systems, especially for students arriving without guardians.

Entry of candidates will begin at 11 a.m. through two designated gates and continue until 1:30 p.m. The examination is scheduled from 2:00 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. City Coordinator Mr. Subhrasis Ghorui confirmed that question papers will be transported under strict security protocols, with comprehensive arrangements in place to ensure smooth conduct.

According to official figures, Centre 1 will accommodate 600 candidates, while Centre 2 will host 262 candidates, including one PWD candidate. Two supervisors, 72 invigilators, and three observers appointed by the National Testing Agency (NTA) will oversee the conduct of the examination. Security outside the centres will be managed jointly by the civil police and Central Armed Police personnel.

The district administration stated that comprehensive safeguards have been put in place to uphold transparency and security during the examination.

The inspection team included Superintendent of Police Gaurav Dogra, Additional Deputy Commissioners Seiminthang Lenthang and Lalrobul Infimate, Principal of Churachandpur College Ginzamang T. Zomi, ZEO Esther Chingneikim, and officials from line departments
