NPP’s James Sangma clears nomination scrutiny for Meghalaya Rajya Sabha seat

Shillong: The scrutiny of nomination papers for the lone Rajya Sabha seat from Meghalaya was conducted at the Meghalaya Assembly Secretariat, and National People’s Party candidate James P.K. Sangma’s papers were found to be completely in order and accepted.

The scrutiny was carried out by Returning Officer and Meghalaya Legislative Assembly Secretary Malthus S. Sangma.

Sangma who is also the MDA candidate had filed his nomination on June 8 to contest the seat.

With no other candidate in the fray, the June 11 deadline for withdrawal of nominations will mark the final step before the election process is completed.
