Senapati: In a proactive step towards improvement the livelihoods of farmers boosting farm productivity of the district, the Deputy Commissioner of Senapati, Dharun Kumar S, IAS, distributed essential Agricultural seeds and inputs to district farmers today at Deputy Commissioner Office Complex, Senapati. The programme was organised by District Agricultural Officer, Senapati for the crop year 2026-27
The distribution of Agriculture seeds and inputs includes Maize, Pea, Paddy, Knapsack sprayer and locally produced Vermi Compost.
Speaking at the programme, DC Dharun Kumar emphasized the critical importance of ensuring that all eligible farmers seamlessly receive the benefits and support under various government welfare schemes. He stated that appropriate interventions, modern agricultural practices, and institutional support can transform farming into a highly productive and profitable enterprise. He further stressed the need for coordinated efforts among government departments, field officials, and farming communities to ensure successful implementation of all programmes and schemes. He expressed his confidence that with collective effort and sustained institutional support, the agriculture sector in Senapati will continue to grow, benefitting farmers and contribute to the overall economic development in the district.
Lavei James, District Agriculture Officer, Senapati in his speech informed that agricultural seeds and inputs including locally produced vermicompost are being distributed to farmer to support agricultural development and improve farm productivity in the district. He said that the delay of the events was due to unforeseen logistical challenges and delays in transportation. However, he assured that the departments is working tirelessly to ensure all intended beneficiaries received their support in a timely manner through various developmental programmes and agricultural assistance.
