Imphal: The Nagamapal Youth Development Club (NYDC) felicitated Yengkhom Suraj of Nagamapal Phougeisangbam Leikai, Imphal, for successfully completing his first Ironman 70.3 (Half-Ironman) Triathlon held at Da Nang on May 10, 2026.
Yengkhom Suraj secured the 41st position out of 150 participants in his category and ranked 383rd out of 1,339 athletes overall in the prestigious international endurance event.
The globally renowned Ironman 70.3 consisted of a gruelling 1.9-kilometre open-water swim, a 90-kilometre cycling race, and a 21-kilometre half-marathon run, covering a total distance of 113 kilometres.
Suraj completed the demanding race in an impressive time of 5 hours, 53 minutes, and 0.5 seconds, earning the coveted “Ironman 70.3 Finisher” title.
The felicitation function was graced by Yengkhom Jotin, President of NYDC; Khumallambam Nepolean, General Secretary; advisors Nongmaithem Kunjaraj and Khagembam Memcha, along with members of NYDC.
Speaking on the occasion, NYDC members praised Suraj’s dedication, discipline, and perseverance, stating that his remarkable accomplishment has brought immense pride to Nagamapal and the entire state of Manipur. They further expressed hope that his success would inspire many youths to take up endurance sports and pursue excellence through determination and hard work.
