Imphal: A poignant wreath-laying ceremony was held at Imphal Airport to honour the supreme sacrifice of Havildar Rajender Singh Panwal of 43 Assam Rifles. The ceremony, organised under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South), brought together Senior Officials, fellow soldiers and dignitaries who gathered to honour the braveheart who exemplified courage, dedication and selfless service in the line of duty.
Havildar Rajender Singh Panwal, a native of Almora district in Uttarakhand, rendered an extraordinary 38 years of distinguished service to the nation. His career was marked by unwavering dedication and courage across diverse and challenging operational environments. Draped in the Tricolour, his mortal remains were received with solemn reverence, symbolising the nation’s eternal gratitude for his selfless devotion to duty.
The ceremony commenced with the laying of wreaths, each gesture reflecting deep respect and collective mourning. A moment of silence was observed, capturing the profound sense of loss while also embodying immense pride in a life lived with honour and sacrifice. The atmosphere was imbued with emotion as comrades, officers and dignitaries bowed their heads in remembrance of a soldier whose indomitable spirit will continue to inspire generations.
