Assam Rifles engages with civil society organisation in Thoubal District

Imphal,: In continuation of its sustained efforts to foster strong civil–military relations and maintain peace in the region, Assam Rifles organised an interaction with Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) of Khangabok and Khetri Leikai in Thoubal District, Manipur. The meeting provided a constructive platform for dialogue and was attended by members of both communities along with Assam Rifles personnel. 

Maibam Ibomcha Singh, President of KASAL (Khetri Leikai Semgaht Sagatpa Apunba Lup), and Shri Thaocham Keiran, President of KADASU (Khangabok Apunba Development Association Student Union), actively participated in the discussions alongside other members of their organisations. The CSO representatives apprised Assam Rifles of the prevailing situation and highlighted grievances faced by the local populace, particularly in the context of the current security environment and community welfare. 

Assam Rifles reiterated its ethos aligned with the motto, “Friends of the North East, Sentinels of the North East,” and emphasised its unwavering commitment to the people. The interaction was well received and strengthened mutual trust, cooperation and understanding between the force and the local stakeholders.

In the present circumstances of Manipur, such engagements hold immense importance in reinforcing dialogue, building confidence and ensuring collective efforts towards peace and stability in the region.
