Imphal: Assam Rifles organised a motivational session on joining the Indian Armed Forces followed by a Weapon Display for school students from Imphal at Sanghai Auditorium, Pallel Garrison, Kakching District. The initiative aimed to create awareness regarding career opportunities and motivate the youth towards national service.
The programme commenced with an informative briefing where participants learned about recruitment procedures, eligibility criteria, and various entry schemes. Emphasis was placed on physical fitness, discipline, and the dedication required for a career in uniform. Students were encouraged to focus on academics and physical standards to serve the nation with honour. This was followed by a Weapon Display, familiarising participants with the equipment and operational capabilities of the security forces, which generated keen interest regarding the force’s preparedness.
The experience was further enriched by a visit to the Cultural Hall to witness the region’s rich heritage and a tour of the Community Radio Station to understand its role in public outreach. Participants also interacted with trainees of the Skill Development and Training Programme, gaining insight into vocational initiatives for local youth. A total of 80 participants attended the event, including 55 boys, 10 girls, and 15 parents, alongside teachers and 12 officials and troops. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation and was lauded by faculty and parents. This initiative underscores Assam Rifles’ continued commitment to youth empowerment and fostering patriotic values amongst the younger generation.
