Wahengbam Anand appointed as President of Manipur Youth Congress
Imphal: Wahengbam Anand has been appointed as the new President of the Manipur Youth Congress by the Indian Youth Congress on Friday.
“We are confident that you will dedicate your time and energy to strengthening the organization and the Congress party under the able and dynamic leadership of Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, and Rahul Gandhi,” stated Uday Bhanu Chib, the National Youth Congress President, in an official announcement.
Anand, 28, hails from Kumbi Setupur and currently resides at Kwakeithel Lamdong. Born to W. Rabindra and Memyai Devi, he completed his M.A. in Political Science from Aligarh Muslim University, Uttar Pradesh. Anand joined the Youth Congress in 2015 and previously served as the Youth President of Bishnupur Youth Congress under the leadership of Amir Hussain.
Interestingly, he is the second elected youth Congress President in Manipur after Amir Hussain since 2012.
In addition to Anand’s appointment, Naorem Avinash Singh, Thongam Narendra Kumar, and Tajjuddin Shah have been named Vice Presidents of the Manipur Youth Congress.A
