Imphal: As part of the National Integration Tour (NIT), a group of 20 students from Manipur visited Agra, UP, on November 6-7, 2024, following their successful stop in Delhi.
During their two-day visit, the students explored Agra’s rich cultural heritage, visiting renowned landmarks like the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Fatehpur Sikri, and Sikandara. Guided tours offered them a deep dive into India’s vibrant and diverse history.
A highlight of the tour was their visit to the Army Airborne Training School, where the students witnessed a live demonstration of a paratrooper freefall jump and learned about parachute mechanics. They also interacted with the Commandant of the school and explored the Parachute Brigade Museum, gaining insights into the valorous contributions of Indian paratroopers in historic battles.
Organized by the Indian Army under Operation Sadbhavna, this initiative aims to foster national integration by engaging young minds. The tour will conclude in Imphal on November 12, 2024. Through this program, the Indian Army continues to reinforce its commitment to nurturing unity and cultural awareness among youth, stated a press release from the PRO Defence, Manipur, Nagaland, and Southern Arunachal Pradesh.
