Imphal: Dr. Sapam Ranjan Singh, Health, FW & IPR Minister of Manipur, conducted an inspection of the infrastructure at the Covid Hospital in Kyamgei, Imphal East, on Tuesday.
Accompanying the minister were Dr. M. Dinesh Singh, State Mission Director of NHM Manipur; Dr. Prabin Singh, Joint Director of Health Services Manipur; Dr. Iboyaima Singh, Director of Churachandpur Medical College (CMC); along with officials from the Health Department and faculty members from CMC.
Notably, the Covid Hospital in Kyamgei is being temporarily used for conducting classes for CMC students due to the ongoing state crisis in the state.
During his visit, Minister Ranjan interacted with staff and MBBS students attending classes at various locations in Imphal. He shared that the state government has decided to renovate and upgrade the infrastructure at the Kyamgei Covid Hospital to better accommodate the staff and students, as a temporary solution.
Minister Ranjan urged all stakeholders to support these new initiatives undertaken by the Health Department in the interest of CMC’s MBBS students currently based in Imphal. He also instructed the responsible authorities and contractors to commence and complete their assigned tasks promptly. The inspection team further toured the hospital campus and its surrounding areas.
