Imphal: In a touching display of unity and trust, women across Manipur celebrated Raksha Bandhan with the Indian Army in various districts, including Leimakhong, Ukhrul, Kangpokpi, Imphal East, and Bishnupur.
At Hope International School in Leimakhong, young girls tied Rakhis to soldiers, expressing their respect and gratitude. In Ukhrul, Kangpokpi, and Imphal East, women and girls from local villages continued this tradition, tying Rakhis to the Army personnel stationed there.
In Bishnupur district, ceremonies were held at multiple locations, including the Toronglaobi, Haotak, and Sunussiphai relief camps. Local women tied Rakhis to the soldiers, who in return offered sweets as a gesture of appreciation. Soldiers also visited homes in Phougakchao, distributing sweets and receiving Rakhis from the residents.
The celebrations were followed by traditional feasts, symbolizing the deep-rooted cultural connection between the soldiers and the communities they serve. The event highlighted the enduring bond between the Army, as protectors of the nation, and the local communities, fostering mutual respect and unity.
