Imphal: As thousands of people waited along the road to greet Rahul Gandhi on the second day of his Bhart Jodo Nyay Yatra on Monday, the former Congress president assured the people of Manipur that he will ensure to make Manipur peaceful and harmonious once again.
In his brief address to the people along the Yatra here on Monday, Gandhi said, the purpose of starting the Nyay Yatra from Manipur, was to send a powerful message across the country and make the people aware of what people of Manipur have been going through.
He said, he has been meeting a number of people and he can feel and understand their pain and tragedy they have gone through. He said he understood what it meant to lose family members and property in the violence.
Gandhi hoped that the peace and harmony returned to Manipur as soon as possible.
On the second day of the Nyay Yatra, Gandhi interacted with a cross section of people. He regularly dismounted from the bus he was travelling in, to speak to people who were waiting for him on the roads with the national tricolour in their hands.
The Congress leader also marched on foot at several places and was joined by hundreds of party workers and common people. He greeted them while a number of people clicked selfies with him.
