Gangtok: The Chief Minister of Sikkim,has greeted the people on the occasion of Durga Puja celebrated here as the ‘ Bada Dashain’.
‘I extend my warm greetings and best wishes to the people of Sikkim, especially the Hindu community on the auspicious occasion of Durga Puja Bada-Dasain ,’said CM.
‘Goddess Durga is a symbol of power and is also a divine form of Nari-Shakti, who epitomises female dynamism’.
‘I pray to God that this joyous festival is marked by the spirit of peace, fraternity, and unity amongst our people and we rededicate ourselves to the service and progress of our state and nation and strengthen the moral foundation of our society,’ added Tamang.
‘On the auspicious occasion of this festival, let us all resolve to build a society where women are bestowed with higher respect than before and equal participation in every sphere of life.Dussehra, also known as Bada Dasain, is a significant festival that we celebrate with great enthusiasm and fervor. However, amidst our joyous celebrations, we cannot overlook the recent tragedy caused by a devastating river surge, which has led to the losses of lives of our dear relatives.
In these trying times, let us also remember that we are in a period of mourning and loss. Earnestly, I urge everyone to offer prayers for the departed souls and towards the restoration of all that has been scattered and disrupted, as well,’ said CM finally.
