Kolhapur: In a one-sided game, Maharashtra trounced Andhra Pradesh by 6-0 goals in ‘F’ group’s football match being played at Chhatrapati Shahu stadium here on Tuesday.
Domineering the game from the start, Maharashtra’s local lad Pavan Mali netted a ball in 15th minute, then Himanshu Patil’s scored a penalty goal in 25th minute and retained the lead until end of first half.
In second half, Maharashtra’s Advait hit three subsequent goals and lastly with Jonson Mathew’s goal, the home team outplayed Andhra Pradesh.
While in other closely fought matches, Telangana beat Tripura in extra time with Darshan Reddy’s only goal in 92nd minutes and in third match, Lakshadweep’s Abul Hasan registered a solitary goal over Andaman-Nicobar team and won the match.
