Imphal: Arambai Tenggol, a Meitei volunteers group, which is under severe criticism especially from the Kukis CSOs in regard with the current violence in Manipur, Monday strongly condemned the ‘heinous killing’ of sister Lucy Marem by miscreants last week.
The Tenggol also dismissed the charges of some apex Naga bodies that it involved in the killing Lucy Marem, daughter of Thoukhal Marem of Narum village under Pallel police station and said it didn’t expect such kind of allegation from responsible bodies without concrete evidence.
“The possibility of an intentional attempt to tarnish the image of Arambai Tenggol and make it a scapegoat may please be explored. Every crime committed in Manipur during this unfortunate period should not be blamed to Arambai Tenggol only. We’re only a small group of reasonable young men who are committed to protect the culture and identity of our native land, a statement issued by Arambai Tenggol, which is now dissolved, said.
The Meitei group urged all the individuals/organizations not to blame the group without any valid proof/evidence… since the culprits have already been apprehended, the relevant information could be ascertained from the police department, it added.
The Tenggol also appealed to all our fellow brothers and sisters of Manipur to understand who is our kin and blood relation and not to take any action which will be regretted later on.
The objective of Arambai Tenggol is to save the future of all indigenous people of Manipur and we never are irresponsible psychopath as depicted by some groups, it concluded.
