Manipur CM calls on Amit Shah, discusses ground situation

The Union Minister also advised the chief minister to work hard to achieve everlasting peace and seek cooperation of every stakeholder in Manipur

Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh met with the Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, in the national capital and briefed him about the evolving situation on the ground in the state.

The chief minister informed the Union Minister that the state government under the close supervision of the Union government has been largely able to control the violence. Moreover, there has been no report of casualties due to the violence since June 13, he added. 

Amit Shah, on his part, assured that the central government will take all possible steps to bring normalcy in the state. The Union Minister also advised the chief minister to work hard to achieve everlasting peace and seek cooperation of every stakeholder in Manipur to ensure that peace prevails in the state.

The chief minister was accompanied by BJP national spokesperson, Sambit Patra, Rajya Sabha MP Maharaja Sanajaoba Leishemba, Speaker Th Satyabrata Singh.
