Imphal: Security forces recovered 35 weapons of all types, ammunition and other warlike stories during combing operations both in the hills and valley on the second day on Thursday
Operations are being conducted by adopting a people friendly approach to include regular announcements to voluntarily surrender illegal arms and ammunition, prior to commencing search of specific areas, an official of the Defence mystery said.
Presence of magistrates, along with the columns, is being ensured during search operations in non AFSPA areas. Domination of NH-37 continues to ensure incident free movement of essential goods to & from Manipur, as part of the ongoing operations, he added.
During the conduct of combing operations, adequate measures are being undertaken to ensure that no inconvenience is caused to the local population, he said.
