13 injured in Manipur bus accident

The driver reportedly told the police that he lost control because the brakes failed. The accident took place at 10.20 am in Khararphung area of Ukhrul.

Imphal: At least thirteen people, most of them students, were injured in a bus accident at Ukhrul on Tuesday.

A bus carrying students of Pettigrew College, Ukhrul, met with an accident at Khararphung, Ukhrul after the brake failed. It went turtle injuring the students. They were rushed to separate hospitals at Ukhrul and Imphal. 

The driver reportedly told the police that he lost control because the brakes failed. The accident took place at 10.20 am in Khararphung area of Ukhrul. 

The bus operates between Ukhrul town and Pettigrew College campus in the Meijalung area close to Somsai.
