Imphal: Manipur Police arrested on Saturday a mastermind behind running the theft operations across Manipur.
The arrest was made two days after two persons involved in vehicle theft were apprehended from Senapati on last Thursday.
The mastermind, identified as Letgulen Khongsai, 24, was arrested from a rented house at Phumgtil Veng, Ward No. 15, Kangpokpi. One stolen Bolero bearing registration No. AS01EJ8670 was recovered from his rented house.
The arrested person and the stolen vehicle were handed over to Lamsang Police Station for further investigation, said a press note issued by the PRO, Manipur Police.
Meanwhile, a combined team of Imphal West and Thoubal Police recovered four plastic soap cases suspected to be containing Heroin no. 4 powder weighing 48 grams approx. (without the weight of the soap cases) and five plastic pouches containing suspected WY tablets weighing 100 grams approx. (including the weight of the packet) from a newly dug pit near a pond on the premises of a house owned by Mayangmayum Ethemcha (28yrs) son of M. Alao of Sangaiyumpham Mairenkhun Mayai Leikai on Sunday.
The seized items were handed over to Thoubal Police Station for further investigation, said a press note from the PRO, Manipur Police.
