Imphal: Imphal Riding Club lifted the 2nd State Women’s Polo Tournament 2023, organised by the Manipur Horse Riding (IRC) and Polo Association (MHRPA), trouncing Chingkheihunba Polo Club 9-3 on Sunday at the Mapal Kangjeibung Imphal.

M Priya Devi gave a stellar performance for Imphal Riding club as she scored as many as six goals out of the team’s tally of nine.

In the final match today, the two teams appeared to be evenly matched in the beginning as Imphal Riding Club managed to score only one goal in the 1st chukker through Priya in the 6.12th minute.

But in the 2nd chukker, Imphal Riding club literally galloped away with the match as they pumped in 6 goals without any response from Chingkheihunba Polo Club. Priya Devi scored four goals while Deventy and Bijenty scored one goal each.

Chingkheihunna Club again failed to open its account in the 3rd chukker also while Imphal Riding Club added two more goals through Bijenty and Priya. At the end of this chukker, the score line read 9-0 in favour of Imphal Riding Club.

In the last chukker, Chingkheihunba Club gave a much improved display scoring three goals through Neelu RK, Asahkiran and Sangeeta while keeping Imphal Riding Club at bay. But it proved to be too late in the day as Imphal Riding club emerged winner at the end of the match with a convincing margin of 9-3.
