Four new COVID-19 cases, 7 recoveries in Meghalaya

With 62 active Covid-19 cases, East Khasi Hills, which includes State capital Shillong, is the most affected district followed by 25 active cases in the West Garo Hills.

Shillong: Four new COVID-19 cases were detected, taking the number of active cases to 99, while seven more persons recovered from the viral infection in Meghalaya on Monday.

Director Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman War said that three new confirmed COVID-19 cases were detected in Ri-Bhoi district and one in East Khasi Hills district.

With 62 active Covid-19 cases, East Khasi Hills, which includes State capital Shillong, is the most affected district followed by 25 active cases in the West Garo Hills.

So far, Meghalaya has registered 14, 126 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 150 deaths with 1.06 per cent case fatality rate and 13, 877 recoveries.

Dr War informed that 99, 393 persons from outside have entered the State since the onset of the pandemic till date.

On the other hand, 22, 486 health care workers have been administered with the first dose of Covishield vaccine, 15, 204 have received the second dose, 32, 942 frontline workers have received the first shot of the vaccine and 18, 691 have got the second dose, while 32, 657 from among the general public have been inoculated with the first dose and 1005 with the second dose of the vaccine against COVID-19.
