Odisha CEO reviews Padampur by poll

Sambalpur: Odisha chief electoral officer (CEO) Sushil Kumar Lohani visited Padmapur to review the preparations for the Padampur Assembly by-election to be held on December 5.


Lohani held discussions with all senior officials of the district including the collector Monisha Banerjee and SP Parmar Smith Purushottam Das besides the election returning officer cum sub-collector of Padmapur Trilochan Patra.
The CEO asked about the training programme to the polling and presiding officers for the smooth conduct of the election.


He further enquired about the model booths, pink booths, voting arrangements of the physically challenged persons and persons above 80 and awareness drive to attract more voters to the booths.


Lohani asked officials present to conduct vigorous raids on illegal liquors, checking of vehicles and also ensure law and order before and after the election.


Local officials apart, the central election observer Ram Prasad Gupta was present during the CEO’s visit to the Padampur Assembly constituency.
