Shillong: The number of active Covid-19 cases rose to 106 with 13 new cases detected on Sunday in Meghalaya, which has so far registered 94016 confirmed cases, including 1594 cases of fatality and 92316 cases of recovery, including nine that were recorded on Sunday, health officials said.
The number of active Covid-19 cases was recorded at 61 in the most pandemic-hit East Khasi Hills, which includes the state capital Shillong with the district accounting for nine new cases today, as per official statistics.
The West Garo Hills reported three new Covid-19 cases with the number of active cases in the district at 34 and Ri-Bhoi recorded one new Covid-19 case with the number of active cases in the district increasing to nine.
“Four Covid-19 infected patients are undergoing treatment in various hospitals in the state,” an official in the health department said, adding that seven out of the total 12 districts in the state had no active Covid-19 case as on date.
Meanwhile, of the 1410610 persons tested for Covid-19 in the state till today, 1316594 were tested negative for the virus, the state Covid dashboard reflected.
According to the National Health Mission record, 32139 health care workers have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, 29502 have been administered with the second dose and 9813 have taken the third precaution dose, while 97024 front-line workers have been vaccinated with the first dose, 85691 have received the second dose and 28240 have got the precaution shot, even as 1299895 persons from among the general public have been inoculated with the first dose, 946533have been fully vaccinated with the second dose and 9801citizens have taken the booster dose across the state as on date.
