Pherzaw: The first Pherzawl District Hmar Martyrs Football Tournament kicked off Saturday at Parbung Mini Stadium, Pherzawl District.
As part of the tournament, cultural items were presented by Parbung HYA, Parbung Hr. Secondary School and Jubilee Standard School Parbung. Artists invited for the occasion, enthralled the audience with their melodious performances.
Headmaster JSS Parbung Tv. Kapkhanlien, delivered the welcome address while Chairman HMARTOP HJH Tv.Hrilhmingthang, gave the vote of thanks and presented gifts to the Special Invitees.
Speaking on the occasion as chief guest, DC Pherzawl, Joseph Pauline Kamson expressed that among the tribes inhabiting Manipur, the Hmar Community set an exemplary example as the Harbinger of Christianity, torchbearer of western education and for organizing a promising and beautiful event. The chief guest also kicked off the first Pherzawl District Level Hmar Martyrs. The first match played between Parbung CHC and Parbung Youth Club was won Parbung Youth Club 1-0. MCS, SDO Tipaimukh&Vangai Dinesh Kumar Singh, and Secretary, Parbung Village Authority, Lalnisuok Darngawn, attended the event as functional president and guest of honour.
