New Delhi: India on Thursday condemned the visit of US Congresswomen Ilhan Omar to Pak occupied Kashmir describing her visit amounts to violating India’s territorial integrity.

External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi, in a briefing, said, “We have noted that she has visited parts of the Indian Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir that is currently illegally occupied by Pakistan. If such a politician wishes to practice her narrow-minded politics at home that may be her business.”

But violating our territorial integrity and sovereignty in its pursuit makes it ours… the visit is condemnable, he added. US Congresswomen Ilhan Omar arrived in Pak occupied Kashmir on a four day visit on Wednesday.

Omar went to PoK’s capital Muzaffarabad and met the so called President of the region Sultan Mehboob Chaudhary. Omar has been critical of the Biden administration for what she calls ‘silence despite the persecution of Indian Muslims by the Modi government’.

Giving details about the forthcoming Raisina Dialogue, the Spokesperson said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Dialogue on April 25. “Raisina Dialogue is an important flagship event organised by the MEA in collaboration with the ORF.

The 7th edition of the Dialogue will be inaugurated on April 25 and go on till April 27. Inaugural session will have the chief guest as the President of the EU Commission,” he said.

He said that the side events will be hosted in Berlin and Washington and broadly, there will be 100 sessions with more than 210 speakers from 90 countries.

Responding to a query based on the comments made by Japan’s ruling Liberal Democratic Party official Sanae Takaichi that India has refused to allow the landing of a Japanese Self Defence Force plane deployed for delivering humanitarian aid to Ukraine, Bagchi said that India, as per norms, has approved Japan’s commercial aircraft to pick such humanitarian supplies from a UN depot in Mumbai.
