Imphal: Manipur Police seized 18 bars of gold weighing 2.99 kg at Pallel Check-post, Kakching district on Thursday.
The seized gold bars were seized from a four-wheeler bearing registration number MN01AS-8825.
The golds were concealed beneath the step of the left door. Police said each gold bar was packed in plastic with a white sticker pasted on it. On the bottom of the bar, three small “W” letters and one large ‘W” letter were carved along with a five-petalled flower symbol carving.
On the top of the bar Letter “W” was carved. Each bar weighs 166gms. A person identified as Prakash Kshetri who was carrying the gold was nabbed and an investigation is going on.
