Manipur logs six Covid deaths Tuesday

Three of the 11 deceased persons are from Imphal East and one each from Imphal West, Bishnupur and Thoubal respectively.

Imphal: In the last 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of Tuesday, Manipur recorded six Covid-related deaths, 160 positive cases (149 general population, 11 CAPF) and 209 recoveries, as per an official release from the Health Department.

Three of the 11 deceased persons are from Imphal East and one each from Imphal West, Bishnupur and Thoubal respectively. Five of them had co-morbidities; three of them have been vaccinated with 2nd dose, one with the 1st dose while who of them had not been vaccinated at all. The cumulative death toll in the state now stands at 2072.

Of the 149 persons from the general population who tested positive, 57 are from Imphal West, 38 from Imphal East, 11 each from Thoubal and Tamenglong, seven each from Bishnupur and Churachandpur, five from Kangpokpi, three from Kakching, two each from Tengnoupal, Chandel, Senapati and Noney. Altogether 2,055 persons were tested which amounted to a positivity rate of 7.8 %

Meanwhile, 209 persons recovered and were discharged, 171 from home isolation, 28 from CCCs, seven from JNIMS and four from RIMS. The recovery rate of the state stands at 95.80 %. 

The cumulative number of positive cases in the state now stands at 1,35,170 out of which 1,29,494 have recovered, leaving 3,604 active cases.

The total number of doses administered on February 7, 2022, is 10,436, the cumulative number of doses administered is 25,85,051 (1st dose 14,65,138, 2nd dose 10,78,285) and precautionary dose 41,628.

There are a total of 300 Covid beds in JNIMS, out of which 71 are occupied while 229 are vacant while in RIMS there are 190 Covid beds, out of which 64 are occupied and 126 are vacant.
