Kohima: The 11th Edition of the Lotha Football Championship (LFC) 2022 organised by Wokha District Football Association (WDFA) got off to a colourful start on 28th January 2022 at the Local Ground Wokha. Chairman, Lotha Hoho, Er. Mhondamo Ovung graced the opening ceremony of the 11th LFC as the special guest.
Addressing the players during the opening ceremony, Er. Ovung congratulated WDFA for organising such tournament and creating platform for the youngsters to expose their talents.
He called upon the players to be disciplined, hardworking and dedicated so that they will achieve their goals in life, and encouraged them to take up sports as a profession and not just as a leisure-pursuit.
He further encouraged the players to exhibit their talents in the true spirit of the game.
The opening match of the tournament was played between XI Brothers and Old Aree Sporting Club, with XI Brothers winning the match. In the second match, Lower “E” Khel defeated Longsa Sports Association by 3-1.
