Imphal: Khumukcham Joykisan, former Congress MLA will join the JD(U) on Thursday.
Manipur in-charge of JD(U) Ramprit Mandal, MP addressing the media here on Wednesday at the residence of Joykisan said the National President of JD(U) Lalan Singh will be arriving here on Thursday to attend the formal joining ceremony.
Joykisan was suspended from the Congress party on January 18 last.
Joykisan said he was in touch with JD(U) leaders for about three months and there had been speculations of him joining the BJP.
He clarified that he never approached the BJP to become its member even though RSS leaders visited him several times.
Joykisan further said Nitish Kumar, the leader of JD(U) is a respectable person and considering his vision and works he decided to join the party.
The former Congress MLA said he also consulted the people of his constituency, Thangmeiband before taking the decision to join the JD(U).
